Hello everyone.
Hello everyone. I am from Poland, but I have been living and working in Greece for 18 years now. A great part of my teaching experience is with very young learners (2-6), and in tertiary education teaching Academic English and Methodology (including Materials Evaluation and Design) units to BA and MA students, but I have taught other age groups and levels too. I am also a storyteller for (very) young learners and I volunteer with my storytelling sessions at the local library. My ELT-related experience also involves serving as the vice-chair of TESOL Macedonia-Thrace and the Editor in Chief of our e-bulletin in the recent past.
I am passionate about incorporating social issues into ELT and I design my own materials, some of which I publish on my blog http://eltforabetterworld.blogspot.gr/. I want to get more involved in materials writing and teach less - long teaching hours have taken toll on my health (those poor vocal cords can't take hours of talking anymore), but I also feel that I want to share with the world what I have learned all these years teaching. I have recently taken up a new position at a publishing house here in Greece, so this is a good start, I hope :)
Finally, I am a frequent presenter at TESOL and IATEFL conferences in Europe http://lanyrd.com/profile/margaritakosior/. I have also published articles in various ELT bulletins.
In my free time, I like to dance and I take photographs.
This is my profile https://about.me/margaritakosior
Really happy to be here with you and looking forward to the course.

Hi Margarita - your energy is amazing. I'm sure we are going to love sharing ideas with you and learning from you.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, I am trying to tone down my energy levels and start appreciating slow and quiet moments too :) Lovely to meet you, really :)
ReplyDeleteOh, nice--I bet there are some ways you could incorporate your photos into your materials, too, if you wanted. Social issues is a great topic for self-publishing because the larger traditional places won't always touch those topics, but teachers and students can be passionate about them.
ReplyDeleteI have plenty of ideas regarding social issues. The truth is, I have been trying to get sth published, but in vain so far. I would love to talk to you about what steps I have taken so far and what the best way would be for me.
ReplyDeleteHi Margarita, it's good to meet you! Looking forward to learning a lot together this month.
ReplyDeleteHi Margarita! Nice to meet you! I also enjoy taking photographs! You have a great blog :)
ReplyDeleteI fancy writing something on social issues, too. Let's see if we have time to put our heads together (Dorothy's right - the publishers won't touch them, because they break with all the PARSNIPS!)
ReplyDeleteHi Margarita!! Welcome! Hope to meet you sometime at TESOL or IATEFL! Great to meet you here! :)
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you, Margarita! :)
